This program provides the theoretical knowledge and skills so that students can promote quality care. Our training is enhanced by having a fully operational simulated laboratory to practice your skills.
Our course has a particular emphasis on supporting aged people in residential and a community settings, and explores the attitudes and values which promote quality care.
As a result of completing this program, a student will have a better understanding of ageing and be able to deliver appropriate care to older people.
Assistants in Nursing (AIN) care for the elderly in a range of settings including nursing homes and supported accommodation.
Students suited to Assistant in Nursing need to be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and have the patience and empathy to work with the sick and or the elderly.
Career Opportunities include: a variety of aged care or disability settings including Nursing Homes, Hostels, Hospitals, Supported Residential Services, Adult Day Services, Disability Support, Aged Care Facilities and in the Client’s Home.

Course Details:
The course is composed of both classroom, simulation learning, plus workbased learning experiences (not paid).
Duration:
22 weeks - 2 terms of 10 weeks (20 hours per week). This includes 2 blocks of 2 weeks of full time work experience in each term (40 hours per week), and also includes 2 weeks of holidays.

Application fee: $150 which is non-refundable
